Looking to Improve Your Skin?
Chemical peels are an excellent option for those who want to rejuvenate their skin.
They can be used on the face, neck, chest and hands. Chemical peels remove the outer layer of dead cells from the surface of your skin which makes it look smoother, brighter and younger.
You deserve to have beautiful looking skin! Schedule a chemical peel today at Dr Joehlvel Ramirez's medical spa in Mazatlan Mexico!
A chemical peel is a type of exfoliation procedure that involves applying an acid formula to the skin. This removes cells which are then replaced with new, healthy cells.

A chemical peel (also known as chemexfoliation or dermabrasion) is procedure that removes the damaged outer layer of skin cells to reveal smoother, healthier looking skin underneath.
It can treat fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars and uneven pigmentation.
The more severe the sun damage or wrinkling, the more aggressive the chemical peel will be.
Chemical peels will gradually improve the texture, tone and color of your skin over time, much like how using a Retin-A or glycolic acid product at home would.
With consistent use, you can expect to see improvement to your skin every 2-6 weeks until fully treated.
Chemical peels feel like a burning sensation and some clients do experience some stinging or discomfort, but it is only temporary.
Most individuals tolerate the procedure well with little to no downtime.
After the peel, you can expect your skin to look red and sensitive for a few days (similar to having a sunburn) and may flake for up to 1 week.
The more severe the peel, the longer it will take your skin to recover.
Patients who are on medications that increase sun sensitivity (photosensitizing medication) are not good candidates for the procedure, as they are more likely to experience an adverse reaction to the sun after having the peel done.
If you are taking a medication that increases sun sensitivity, you will not be able to expose your skin to the sun after the chemical peel is done, for at least 1-2 weeks.

The procedure is generally very safe and is usually well tolerated.
However, some individuals may be sensitive to particular ingredients used in the peels.
If you have a chronic skin condition such as eczema or rosacea, or immune system conditions such as lupus or vitiligo, you will need to consult with your doctor about whether it is safe for you to have a chemical peel.
Chemical peels are not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
